Two pieces of feature art for CoS published within the last week for the new Odd Future and Madonna albums.

Odd Future - The OF Tape Vol. 2

Odd Future are crazy motherfuckers - it’s kinda their deal.  Inspired by the insanity of their video for Rella, the current single from The OF Tape Vol. 2, I combined the tracks’ collaborators into a twisted and jumbled chimera: Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, Left Brain, and Tyler, The Creator.

Madonna - MDNA

Feature art for the CoS review of Madonna’s MDNA.  The album cover is Madonna with some blue-green and magenta with “some kind of broken mirror filter over it” (quote, MTV). Borrowing the color pallet and motif I took a photo of mine from the Fashion Mall shoot, of a broken mirror in the changing room of a bathing suit store, reflecting in four angles.  The store’s wooden floor is reminiscent of a dance studio’s, making the image all the more appropriate.  The final image is heavily layered and tweaked to give the photo a more graphic feel than the bare-bones shot.

I thought the broken glass could either symbolize a breakthrough return to form, or the shattering of her career.  Turns out it was the latter.
